Currently Crushing

It’s been a minute since I’ve posted a Currently Crushing or any kind of favorites post really. The month of December is just non-stop holiday content, so I had less of chance to write candidly about the silly little things I’m into lately. I really love this series because there are no rules. Its not strictly beauty or fashion favs. My current crushes could be anything from a podcast to a kitchen gadget, to a pair new accessory. That’s what makes it fun anything goes and it’s kind of all encompassing. So without further ado, my current crushes…

Gucci 55mm Square Sunglasses

I got these beauties as a Christmas gift from Santa ;). I didn’t know the elves were making Gucci in that workshop, but I’m down with it. Anyway, I love these oversized frames and how dark the lenses are. They really are the perfect champagne hangover reliever. You’ll be shielded from the sun and look chic – win win.

The Body Shop Tea Tree Skin Clearing Facial Wash

Ever since giving up BC two years ago my skin went crazy. I’ve been working on finding the right products to combat it and I think I finally found it! This face wash has a medicinal smell which makes me believe its doing big things. I noticed that after the first time using it it cleared some minor pimples and texture. It’s been a little over a month now and I’m still loving it. MY skin isn’t completely clear, but I’ve started cleaning up other products I use on my face like my foundations and I’m starting to notice even more of a difference.

How To Be A Parisian Wherever You Are By Anne Berest

I picked up this book a few weeks ago and although it’s an easy read and I should be done with it already, I’m still working on it. Let’s say it’s so good that I’m savoring it. This book is funny, but with more of a sarcastic dry humor, which I love. Also, who doesn’t want to be a little more Parisian?! I know I sure do…

Monogrammed Classic Short II Ugg Boots From Neiman Marcus

Fashionable? Not really. I always joked that Uggs look like giant marshmallows on your feet. However, there has never been a more cozy and commutable shoe ever made. Sometime function and comfort wins of style…sometimes. Being a resident of the Northeast region, function definitely takes over fashion in the winter. We’ve been having some freezing weather here lately, I’m talking lows of 10 degrees with the real feel at -4 degrees! How is that even real life?! So when these showed up under the Christmas tree I was grateful indeed and since that day we haven’t parted. Personally, I love anything with a monogram so that was a huge bonus in the cute factor department for me!

Whole 30 Approved – Creamy Ham & Potato Soup By The Real Food Dietitians

We’re 5 days into Whole 30 and still going strong. Already I feel like I have a bit more energy, which truly is my favorite part. Last year when I did Whole 30 for the first time I came across this recipe for creamy ham & potato soup. I’m not a big soup person, but the thumbnail on Pinterest looked so good, I knew I needed to make it. It actually is super easy to make, however finding the correct ingredients can be hard. I always have trouble finding sugar-free ham at the grocery, but I made it a few days ago and switched out ham for diced prosciutto because it isn’t cured with sugar. In the soup the taste and texture is the same. I love to make a huge pot of this and freeze half for later and bring the rest in smaller batches for lunch.
