There are so many things to love about the holiday season. My favorite part is all of the glamour though. All the parties and opportunities to get dressed up and pull out all the stops. I’m talking sequins, red lipstick, and the highest of heels. Ugh I’m getting fashion goosebumps just thinking about it! Now, I’m pretty much extra all the time. You tell me it’s a casual dinner and I will show up looking like it’s NYFW. It’s just who I am as a person. But during the holidays I become extra extra – somehow that’s possible. Literally, I’m dripping in sequins to go grocery shopping all December long. My personal style was just made for the holidays!

Although I’m definitely still into the sparkle, this year I’m all about velvet. Give me all the velvet leggings, tops, booties, and of course dresses! Quality velvet items can be pricey and since it’s kind of trendy and it’s definitely seasonal, I try not to spend a ton. When I came across this orchid colored velvet dress at Target, I knew I had found the perfect little holiday frock. Y’all this dress was only $30 and looks so much more expensive! Accessorize with some awesome shoes, a pair of statement earrings, and a cute clutch and you’re good to go to any holiday party, dinner, or even a fancy date night. My heels are Valentino Rockstud dupes  from Sole Society. I think every girl should own a pair! They’re a little edgy, but still feel really wearable even if edgy isn’t really your style.

Once you nail down the perfect holiday outfit [cough cough, this velvet dress] you’re ready to celebrate! And no celebration is complete without a good playlist! Mike and I always fight over who gets to DJ our home parties, but I think he knows by now that it is I who makes a killer playlist. Here’s a link to my Spotify holiday playlist that we listen to at home when it’s just us two or when were hosting a little holiday get-together. Now dress up, grab the champagne, and get rocking around that Christmas tree!
